Art Exhibition. Letter from visitor

This time last year I stumbled upon an art exhibition that seemed to include a whole community. I was travelling up the A444 to Burton when I saw an advert that changed my day.

I pulled into the car park of  Rickman’s Corner Community Centre at Linton.  I fancied a cuppa and had seen refreshments on the advert! Little did I expect such lovely cakes….  Ann’s Pantry was it…? !!

The hall was exciting too. It was filled with paintings, photographs and cards by local artists from the surrounding community. Everyone was represented – young and old, professional and amateur. Now I'm a bit of a painter myself and found it  a delight to look round … and I came away with an inexpensive picture for my daughter’s birthday too – one less thing to worry about!

As I talked to the helpers there I found out that this was the third exhibition of its kind and one of many things taking place in this fairly new community hall. I heard how the hall had been built after years of hard work, fund raising and grant applications.

I’ve just learned that the fourth exhibition is being held there on 12th and 13th October….. so I urge you to go along like I did. You’ll enjoy it and also the cakes!
