Donation Thanks.

Rickmans Corner would like to thank the family and friends of the late Harry Dughan who donated in his memory to the benefit of the Community Centre. We have received £518.45 and there is also some gift aid to be collected in due course. Everyone has been so generous and it is a testament to how much Harry was loved and respected.

Debbie, Harry’s daughter, has told us how it was their wish to support a local charity to benefit the Community of Linton where Harry had spent most of his life. In particular, Harry had a fondness for football having played for Linton United in his youth following in the footsteps of his Dad, Mick and then later managing the team. In those days, he would have played on farmer Goodwin’s Field below high Street, on some occasions moving the cows off the grass so the game could start. They would have changed and had the post match debrief at the local pub, either the Holly Bush or the Square and Compass, both now long gone. Debbie has shared with us a photo of Harry and his Linton Team from that time. Today, Rickmans Corner is the home of Linton FC and many locals can be seen on a Sunday morning watching the match.

Rickmans Corner very much appreciates the support that Harry’s family and friends have shown and the money donated will be spent wisely to further the objectives of the Charity which is to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the wellbeing of the local Community members. There are many other activities held regularly at the Centre and are advertised on our calendar. If you would like any further information about any of these group activities or are interested in joining us as a volunteer then please email us via contact@rickmanscorner.co.uk.
